UND’s Student Government elections took a little longer than planned Wednesday.

Because of technical issues with the online voting system, voting was suspended for a few hours in the morning.

Those voting early were asked to re-vote after the system was reset.

UND Associate Dean of Students Cassie Gerhardt says voting was scheduled to run from 8 A.M. to 8 P.M., but because of the problems, voting re-started at 11:30 A.M. and ran until 10 P.M.

“Given what we were dealing with (Wednesday), it was the fairest prospect that we could apply,” she said.

Erik Hanson and Kaleb Dschaak were elected as president and vice-president by 25 votes over Theresa Hanley and Abbie Morlock.

Hanson is currently student body vice-president.

Results are not official until confirmed by the Student Senate in early May.
