Without dissent the Grand Forks School Board approved a three year contract last night with soon to be Superintendent Terry Brenner. Brenner will take over the district’s top job July 1st.
Brenner will receive a salary of 195-thousand dollars per year - his pay will be frozen each year of the deal. School board member Eric Lunn questioned the "no pay bump plan" saying it could tie the hands of future boards. Vice-President Eric Burin says the offer came from Brenner - not the negotiating team.
The contract also calls for Brenner to get 25 vacation days and 65-sick days each year. Current Superintendent Larry Nybladh plans to retire at the end of June. Nybladh’s salary is over 231-thousand dollars.
