Storms Pound Red River Valley

Storms pounded parts of the Red River Valley last night. The National Weather service issued numerous Tornado and Severe Thunderstorm Warnings during the evening hours. Most of the heavy stuff went around Grand Forks / East Grand Forks but numerous funnel and tornadoes were spotted in the region. A tornado with debris was viewed east of Adams in Walsh County. Other tornadoes were reported east of Mayville and east of Northwood. Funnel clouds were sighted near Fairdale…Manvel… and Euclid.
Numerous trees were uprooted near Halstad in Norman County…A roof was blown off a pole barn in Borup…79 m-p-h winds blew through Hillsboro knocking out power…Larimore had one-inch hail…and trees and powerlines were down in Clay County.
The National Weather Service office in Grand Forks picked up just over a quarter inch (.26) of rain on Tuesday.
