A Special Election is Underway in Grand Forks

It’s Special Election Day in Grand Forks. Voters are going to the polls to decide the fate of a downtown pocket park. The city wants to develop Arbor Park into a five story condo complex while opponents want to keep the park as is. The development plan was temporarily shelved in February when petitioners submitted signatures to block the project.

When voters go to the polls they won’t be faced with punch cards or computer scanning ballots – just a simple question on a piece of paper with a yes or no box to check. Election works will count the ballots by hand when the polls close.

There is only one voting location….at the Alerus Center….polls close at 7 p-m.
