A much calmer weather day is on tap after a night of watches and warnings for the Red River Valley. A tornado watch for the region expired at midnight. The National Weather Service says last night’s storms produced wind gusts of 60 plus near Fosston and Hallock. One inch hail fell in portions of Barnes and Benson counties. High winds also caused a tree to topple onto the hood of a car in Lancaster. A narrow band - stretching from south of Jamestown to north of Fargo - reported four to seven inches of rain. Officially the N-W-S office in Grand Forks received point-63 inches.
There’s a slight chance of storms returning to the region Thursday night and Friday.
