The Grand Forks Sheriff’s Department has declared public access to the Red River off limits because of flooding. All public access points have been closed. The G-F-S-O says with elevated river levels and falling water temperatures it’s unsafe for public use until water levels recede.

The Red River in Grand Forks East-Grand Forks crested just under 33.5 feet late last night. The river is projected to have a second crest next week at nearly 40 feet. Flood stage is 28.

A Flood Warning continues for: Grand Forks…Fargo…Oslo…Pembina… Drayton…Harwood…West Fargo…Crookston… Alvarado… Roseau…Kindred…and Mapleton.
