A Red Lake (MN) man has been sentenced to over 16 years in prison for sexually assaulting a woman on the Red Lake Reservation.
The U.S. Attorney’s office says 38-year old Descart Begay, Jr. assaulted the victim in her home until she was finally able to escape.
Begay was found guilty in September on two counts of aggravated sexual abuse and two counts of sexual abuse. Begay was sentenced this week in U.S. District Court.
This case is the result of an investigation conducted by the Red Lake Tribal Police Department and the FBI Headwaters Safe Trails Task Force.
