A plea deal has been reached in the D-U-I charge involving North Dakota Tax Commissioner Ryan Rauschenberger. The 34-year old Rauschenberger was arrested late last month with a blood-alcohol level more than twice the legal limit. Under an agreement filed with the court a ten-day jail sentence will be suspended for 360 days of probation. Rauschenberger will also pay one-thousand-250 dollars in fines. A court appearance scheduled for Tuesday has been canceled.
After his arrest Rauschenber told the A-P that he showed poor judgement and was taking steps including treatment for alcoholism.
