Did it feel like October was above average? The National Weather service says temperatures did trend above normal in Grand Forks last month.
In fact there was a new record high temperature set on October 17 with a value of 80 degrees - breaking the old high of 78 set in 1963. A record high temp was tied on October 20 at 79. The average temperature for the month was 46.6 degrees -- 3.5 degrees above normal.
October was also a dry month at the Grand Forks Airport. The N-W-S says a total of point-12 inches of precipitation splashed down. The normal liquid precipitation is 1.97 inches.
