A blizzard warning has been issued for the northern Red River Valley through 9 AM Thursday morning. Strong winds and blowing snow have reduced visibility in open country down to ј mile or less in many locations. With more snowfall expected through the afternoon and evening conditions are expected to worsen with near zero visibility at times, especially in open country. Travel will be dangerous and is not recommended. The winter storm warning is extended to the Devils Lake region as heavy snowfall totals of 5 to 8 inches will be possible along the Highway Two corridor in North Dakota through tomorrow morning. Snowfall amounts of 2-5 inches will be possible elsewhere in the warning area. Strong winds coupled with snowfall will cause blowing snow and low visibility this evening across the southern Red River Valley.
