A closer look at the damage confirms Tuesday’s storms that passed through the Red River Valley were strong enough to produce isolated tornadoes in northwest Minnesota. The National Weather Service confirms an EF-1 twister touched down on the edge of Beltrami (MN) just before eight p-m. The tornado produced winds of 105 miles per hour snapping trees and damaging a storage building.
The N-W-S says a brief touchdown also occurred two miles south of the city with winds of 95 m-p-h.
An EF-1 tornado was on the ground for about a mile near Litchfield (Barnes County) uprooting several trees. Peak winds were estimated at 110 m-p-h.
