A self-evaluation of the North Dakota Board of Higher Education contains mostly favorable reviews of members and the chancellor. The self-evaluation process was conducted in June. Overall members responded positively in understanding their roles and responsibilities in governing the state’s higher education system.
Most members also stated they had a good relationship with the Chancellor and in the decision making process. Some questioned how goals and priorities are set. Others stated they thought the Chancellor’s staff was overworked and that institutional presidents should be encouraged to speak more openly.
The analysis was reviewed by N-D-U-S Governance Committee on Thursday.
