North Dakota’s Lt. Governor Tammy Miller and Ag Commissioner Doug Goehring took time today (Tuesday) to pardon a pair of live turkeys prior to the Thanksgiving Holiday.

The gobblers were brought to the Capitol in Bismarck by the North Dakota Turkey Federation. As part of the annual ceremony 16 frozen turkeys were donated to two local charitable organizations.

There are 9 turkey farms in North Dakota that produce around 1 million birds annually.
