The North Dakota Supreme Court has ordered a pending vacancy in the East Central Judicial District be filled – not moved. The court reviewed the post in light of the retirement of Judge Norm Anderson on January 31st. The District is comprised of Cass…Steele…and Trail counties. In the ruling the high court noted that caseload filings have remained stable…felony cases are becoming more complex…and no comments or petitions were received to relocate the vacancy.
Meanwhile… Seven lawyers have applied to fill the Northeast Central Judicial District judge vacancy created by the resignation of Supreme Court Justice Jon J. Jensen.
The applicants for the judgeship are:
- Daniel Borgen, Bismarck
- Jacqueline Gaddie, East Grand Forks
- Jay Knudson, Grand Forks
- Meredith Larson, Grand Forks
- Michel Mahoney, Bismarck
- Larry Richards, Grand Forks
- Haley Wamstad, Grand Forks
