The latest number crunching from the North Dakota DOT finds motor vehicle fatalities are at their lowest level in the state since 2010. Through the first six months of this year there have been 39 road deaths. That compares to 54 during the same time a year ago.
Despite the 28-percent decrease from 2017 safety officials say the number is still too high. They encourage drivers to wear seat-belts...drive sober...avoid distracted driving...and obey all speed and traffic laws.
Safety Division Director Karin Mongeon says the goal of zero fatalities is not only attainable, but also vital.
