ND Higher Ed Appointments

North Dakota School Superintendent Kirsten Baesler says the process of filling two openings on the state Board of Higher Education is changing a bit because of the resignation of Greg Stemen. The vice-chair of the board and Nick Hacker were both serving four-year terms that end June 30th. Stemen resigned September 27th – Governor Burgum must appoint someone to fill the open slot.
A nominating committee will now prepare three lists for these positions: A six-month term to fill Stemen’s open chair…a four year term for the seat held by Stemen’s successor…and a four-year term for Hacker. Hacker is eligible to be appointed to a second four-year term.
The application deadline is November 21st. Baesler serves as chair of the committee that screens potential candidates.
