North Dakota superintendent Kirsten Baesler says the Education Department has approved North Dakota’s new education plan. U-S Education Secretary Betsy Devos says the guidelines submitted by the state meets the requirements under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act. Baesler put together a group of more than 50 education stakeholders to help write the proposal.
Baesler says the old No Child Left behind law focused on test scores and graduation rates for school rankings.
Baesler says the new plan reflects what’s best for North Dakota students.
