Two Grand Forks lawyers are finalists to fill the Northeast Central Judicial District judgeship vacancy created by the resignation of Supreme Court Justice Jon Jensen.
The Judicial Nomination Committee have forwarded the names of Jay Knudson and Haley Wamstad to Governor Doug Burgum. Burgum has 30 days to make a selection or he can ask for a new list of candidates or call an election.
Knudson is a 2004 U-N-D School of Law graduate. Wamstad is an Assistant State’s Attorney for Grand Forks County. She graduated from U-N-D in 2007.
