ND Deer Hunting

Thousands of hunters will take to the fields on Friday for the start of the North Dakota deer gun season. Game and Fish Wildlife Chief Jeb Williams says anecdotal data and field reports suggest deer reproduction was good this year around the Bismarck-Mandan area. He notes that hunting units near Fargo, Bismarck, Minot, Grand Forks, Dickinson and Williston also tend to be popular. This year 55,150 licenses were made available to hunters - 650 more than last year.
Williams says the department reviews license goals every five years. The current goal is 75-thousand. Williams says that might be hard to achieve.
Williams say they will review that goal again in 2020.
North Dakota’s 2018 deer gun season opens at noon and continues through November 25th.
