The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has fined Cirrus Design 50-thousand dollars as part of an air quality enforcement agreement. The M-P-C-A says the company will also complete three compliance actions. Cirrus began producing aircraft in Duluth in 1993. At that time there were no emission sources requiring state air quality permits. By 2015 the M-P-C-A says the company changed operations and belatedly filed compliance reports from 2002 through 2013.

In addition to the penalty the company is also required to pay unpaid emission fees…submit to an air analysis…and submit annual reports from 2002 to the present.

Cirrus also operates a plant in Grand Forks.
