MN Tax Hikes

Minnesota property owners will likely see higher tax bills in 2020. The state Department of Revenue has tallied up the numbers as cities and counties ready 2020 budgets and respective Truth-in Taxation meetings.
Preliminary property taxes statewide are projected to increase $540.4 million dollars - a 5.2% increase. Last year’s final levy increase was 5.4% ($524 million).
Cities stand to raise the largest levy at 7.5%....school districts 7.0%...and counties 4.9%.
East Grand Forks has set a Truth & Taxation hearing for December 10th. The city is looking at a 5.0% increase next year.
