Kennedy Bridge's aesthetic lighting to be tested

Some testing will begin next week on the Kennedy Bridge – but it won’t affect traffic.
MnDOT will test the bridge’s aesthetic lighting system from Monday through February 1.
"There's a controller you can program, so we test the controller to make sure everything's working right," said MnDOT engineer Paul Konickson. "They'll have it go through the cycle of a different color each day for a few weeks, then it will revert to its (normal) white light at the beginning of February."
Konickson says the testing is required as part of the project.
The two-year bridge reconstruction project began in February 2017 at a cost of more than 15 million dollars.
