North Dakota tax officials have announced that starting October 1st remote sellers will be required to start collecting state sales and use tax. Tax Commissioner Ryan Rauschenberger says the date is intended to give sellers time to update their systems and software.
Last month the U-S Supreme Court ruled that internet firms must collect state taxes. Remote sellers will only be required to collect the state tax if their sales shipped to North Dakota meet or exceed 100-thousand dollars – or 200 separate transactions in the previous calendar year.
