The Grand Forks City Council tabled plans for construction of additional parking for the downtown police department building last night. Deputy Planner Ryan Brooks requested the action due to “timing” with the planned Housing First project for the chronically homeless. The nine-point-six million dollar center will displace around 23 parking stalls now used by the P-D. Brooks gave no timetable for bringing the parking plan back for consideration. The project will also force the skate park to move to Kannowski Park.
