If you’re looking for “H” Street on the Grand Forks Air Force Base you might be best to turn onto John Marshall Street. The G-F-A-F-B renamed the roadway Wednesday after the longtime Grand Forks attorney and base supporter. Marshall served as Chairman of the Council on Military Relations for the City of Grand Forks. He was also an honorary commander of the local base for more than 20 years.
In a ceremony marking the name change Colonel Benjamin Spencer thanked Marshall for his years of service.
"Hopefully, Airmen who travel John Marshall St in the coming decades will
take at least a moment to contemplate your contributions to this wing, this
base, and this country's national defense,"
Marshall was an advocate for the base during closure rounds in 1991…1993… 1995…and 2005.
