Hundreds of Grand Forks residents turned out today (Sunday) for a ceremony to honor around 200 North Dakota Army National Guard soldiers who returned home after a year-long mission in Washington, D.C. Members of the 1st Battalion 188th Air Defense Artillery Regiment served as part of an air defense system to protect the airspace around the National Capital Region. This was the 11th deployment of the 1-188th ADA since 2004. The unit is headquartered in Grand Forks with units in Bismarck and Fargo.

Among those attending the event was Governor Doug Burgum and U-S Senator John Hoeven.
