Cities Area Transit officials hope to tap into some new computer software as it gets ready to unveil a new set of bus routes for greater Grand Forks.
The web-based transit planning gear will cost around 22-thousand dollars over a two-year span.
Public Transportation Director Dale Bergman says the goal is to eliminate little used routes while maximizing demographic changes. Bergman says the software will save time and improve the way the city views route planning.
Bergman says U-N-D is also asking “CAT” to look at their route service. He says the goal is to be able to calculate revenue…frequency…route mileage…and layover time as the route is being drawn or modified.
The proposed bus route changes could come before the council as soon has July.
