GF Teacher Contract Talks

It’s not a done deal but it looks like the impasse in contract talks between teachers and the Grand Forks School District is coming to an end. The two sides reached a tentative agreement after another round of bargaining last night. The terms of the deal grant teachers a salary step based on years of service. Teachers already at the top of the scale would receive a 500 dollar increase.
School Board President Doug Carpenter says it’s only a one-year contract vs the usual two year deal.
The two sides also agreed to study prep time and maternity leave policies during the coming year. Both sides still need to ratify the agreement.
