A search firm from Edina (MN) will help spearhead efforts to find a new superintendent of Grand Forks schools. A school board committee interviewed two finalists for the job last night before agreeing to hire School Exec Connect at a cost of 1$16,500. School Board President Doug Carpenter says the company has a regional feel with a national presence.
Carpenter says they hope to have a letter of agreement signed with School Exec next week - and begin planning sessions in two weeks. He adds the company is also looking to set up a number of stakeholder meetings:
"meetings to involve interviews with board members...teachers...administrators...other staff...members of the community to put together a profile of what we want and specific qualities in a superintendent."
Current Superintendent Larry Nybladh is planning to retire at the end of the school year.
