A 27-year old Lengby (MN) woman faces numerous charges after stealing a vehicle from Grand Forks late Saturday and leading authorities on a high speed chase. Grand Forks police says the incident began in the parking lot on the 44-hundred block of 32nd Avenue South shortly after ten p-m. A woman stated she left her car running and ran inside the Flying J Plaza only to find it gone when she returned.

Authorities spotted the vehicle heading west on Highway Two and began the pursuit with speeds reaching 90 m-p-h. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol the driver turned south on Highway One and eventually got stuck on a dead end near the Stump Lake campground.

The N-D-H-P says Maggie Oppegard was arrested without further incident around 11:30 p-m. Oppegard faces initial charges of driving with a suspended license… fleeing…unauthorized use of a vehicle…and reckless endangerment. There were no injuries.
