GF - Snow Removal

Grand Forks Street crews sprayed a brine solution on arterial streets this week in anticipation of a little light snow. Street Superintendent Mark Aubol says it’s the same product the city used last year to help keep roads ice-free. Aubol says in the coming weeks and months the city plans to try a new de-icing product - called AMP.
Aubol says the solution is designed to cut ice at temps as low as minus -15 degrees. He says the product is also less corrosive to vehicles…
The street department has tried a number of anti-ice products over the years - ranging from beet juice and a distilled by-product that resembled vodka - to the current salt brine solution.
