Sales tax collections in Grand Forks are back in positive territory. The city generated nearly one-point-68 million dollars via the local tax in the August check. That pushes the year-to-date total of just shy of 13-million dollars – up 28-thousand over one year ago. After a series of record setting years local sales tax collections came in under budget in 2016. The city is targeting a three-percent decrease as they prepare the 2018 spending plan.
The tax generated over 20 million dollars last year.
