GF Road Construction

The summer road construction season in Grand Forks is not ready to quit just yet. Starting today traffic on North Washington between DeMers and First Avenue North will be down to one lane in each direction for a mill and overlay project. The stretch of road that passes through the rail underpass has been in rough shape – blamed on improper storm water drainage. Permanent repairs are still a few years down the road. As the stretch is a detour for the Kennedy Bridge rehab the North Dakota D-O-T has identified funding for a temporary upgrade. The work should be completed by the end of the week – weather permitting.
