Thousands lined the route down University Avenue today for the annual Potato Bowl Parade. The parade was one of many events held throughout the week to honor the potato industry in the Red River Valley. The festivities conclude with the Potato Bowl game between UND and Missourri State. On Thursday residents set a new record for the largest single service of French fries as residents gobbled down 8,154 pounds of spuds,

Other events ranged from fireworks and a potato bar to chip giveaways...a street dance...and a golf tournament. The Grand Marshal of the 2017 parade was former UND Interim Vice-President for University and Public Affairs - Peter Johnson.
