Grand Forks police won’t forget Peppa the Pig anytime soon. Officers corralled the wayward pet late Thursday afternoon wondering the streets near St-Anne’s on Fourth Street. Lauralee Tupa of the Circle of Friends Humane Society says after a brief chase the pig was placed in the back of the police car for transport. Tupa says the animal got a little excited and made a "mess."

Grand Forks police say the squad was initially cleaned in-house but will require some professional detailing.

Shortly after arriving at the shelter the owner of the 70 pound animal stepped forward.

Tupa says Peppa was a perfect pig (guest) during her stay at the shelter.
