Grand Forks Police say slippery conditions contributed to a teenage pedestrian being injured this Wednesday afternoon.
Police say shortly after 3 P.M., an SUV driven by a 17-year-old from Grand Forks, struck a 16-year-old pedestrian from Grand Forks at the 2200 block of South 20th Street.
Authorities say the pedestrian tried to cross at a crosswalk, but slipped and fell on the ice.
The P-D says the SUV driver tried to stop, but was unable to, because of the icy conditions.
Police say the pedestrian was transported by ambulance to Altru Hospital with unknown injuries.
No citations have been issued yet, but police say the investigation is ongoing.
The P-D reminds residents that road conditions are very slippery, and reduced speeds are suggested.
