GF Park Tower with Verizon

The Grand Forks Park District is being asked to allow Verizon to erect a cell tower in Kiwanis Park South. Unlike the one previously proposed for University Park this one won’t come dressed as a tree. Park Director Bill Palmiscno says the single pole tower would be topped with a light to help illuminate a future hockey rink - slated for 2019. Verizon would pay the park district 12-thousand dollars annually for the rights.
The Park Board will look over the application later today (Tues 5/pm) and forward the information on to the Grand Forks Planning and Zoning Commission for further review.
