A 26-year old Grand Forks area man faces numerous charges after leading law enforcement on both sides of the river on a pursuit last night. Grand Forks police attempted to stop Kyle Heintz on Cottonwood Street for a felony warrant around five-30 p-m. Authorities say Heintz refused to stop and proceeded to drive through the downtown and eventually over the Point Bridge into East Grand Forks. East Grand Forks police…the Minnesota State Patrol…and Polk County Sheriff’s office joined in on the chase. Authorities say stop sticks and a PIT maneuver eventually stopped the suspect vehicle near Fisher (MN) on Polk County Road Nine.
Charges range in both states from fleeing…driving under suspension…reckless endangerment… possession of a controlled substance…and D-W-I. There were no injuries during the pursuit.
