There could be new life for the building that once housed a restaurant in north Grand Forks. The Planning and Zoning Commission this week gave preliminary approval to plans to convert the former Al’s eatery on Gateway Drive into a Simonson Lumberyard and showroom. Director of Planning and Community Development Brad Gengler says here would be a slight increase in truck traffic associated with the project.
The request will be forwarded to the city council for review later this month with a public hearing on the plan scheduled for May.
