For the second time in 12 hours Grand Forks Police were part of a high speed pursuit. On Sunday afternoon (3:30 p-m) officers received report of a stolen vehicle on Fenton Avenue. Police spotted the stolen vehicle – but the driver refused to stop. The chase at “moderate” speeds passed through East Grand Forks and back into Grand Forks. The driver avoided tire deflation devices and headed west out of town. The North Dakota Highway Patrol took over the pursuit past County Road Five. The vehicle was described as a 1999 Toyota Camry with North Dakota license 9-8-6-A-J-F.
Around 3:30 this morning a second pursuit of a stolen car in south Grand Forks continued west out of the city at speeds of 80 to 90 m-p-h. The driver reportedly ended up in the ditch around four a-m. The G-F-P-D has identified the suspect driver as Derek Fuglem. He is being held on numerous charges including Burglary and Theft of Property.
