GF: Feed My Starving Children

By Doug Barrett Mar 25, 2022 | 8:24 AM

Organizers of the annual Feed My Starving Children event are still looking for a few good volunteers and donations as they ready for another food packing marathon in Grand Forks.

This year’s goal is to hand pack over 270,000 meals during the two-day span that begins today (Friday) at Minnkota Power Company. Chair Jodie Storhaug says that’s enough to feed 745 children for a full year.  “A combination of soy…rice…dried vegetables…and a chicken flavored powder rich in vitamins and minerals.”

Storhaug says they won’t know where the food ends up until several weeks after the event.  “A lot of food from the past nine years have gone to Haiti just because there is such a great need there.”

Storhaug says they are still raising money to pay for the food. At last check they have raised some $57,000 dollars against a $65,500 dollar goal.

Volunteers can register – and Donations can be made – by going to the Feed My Starving Children website at fmsc.org.
Checks can also be dropped off at the event or mailed to Jodie Storhaug:
