The budget for Grand Forks County will be slightly smaller in 2018. The Grand Forks County Board this week approved a spending plan for next year that totals over 24.2 million dollars. That’s down about 100-thousand dollars from the current budget. Finance Director Deb Nelson says cuts were made in every department.
The budget includes a 24.14 mill reduction. Just under twenty mills is the result of the state picking up a major portion of funding for social services. Commissioners also trimmed another four-mills plus in spending.
The budget grants employees scheduled step increases in pay – but not all workers will receive a raise next year.
