Grand Forks officials have extended the deadline for removing “private” art in Arbor Park by a week. August 1st (Tuesday) was the original date set for getting the non-commissioned items from the soon to be developed downtown pocket park. Most of the “added” art remains but Grand Forks Administrator Todd Feland says it looks like next week will be moving day. Feland says owners of the art contacted the city to ask for more time.
Voters in June narrowly approved allowing the construction of a five story condo complex on the site.
A legal summons filed by 22 residents is challenging aspects of the election. A motion to dismiss the case is set for September 22nd in before District Judge John Thelen.
