A former UND faculty member is one of three finalists for the job of president at Valley City State University.

Jack Geller was at UND as director for the Center for Rural Health from 1987 to 1996. He was also at Minnesota Crookston as head of the Department of Liberal Arts and Education from 2008 to 2013.

Geller is currently at the University of Tampa as Dean of the College of Social Sciences, Mathematics and Education.

The other finalists are Alan LaFave, provost at Northern State of Aberdeen (SD) and James Williams, VP for Student affairs at Emporia State of Kansas.

The finalists will interview with the State Board of Higher Education in Valley City on Sept. 27, followed by the selection of the new president.
