It’s not exactly prime time viewing but East Grand Forks will soon be televising the city’s sanitary sewer system. As part of a preventative maintenance program launched in 2011 the city cleans approximately one-fifth of its lines each year. This summer the southeast portion of town will be targeted.
As an added maintenance measure the city plans to televise the system as well – something that hasn’t been done since after the 1997 flood. Public Works Director Jason Stordahl told a working session of the council the cameras will give the city a 360-degree panoramic view of the lines
The cost is just under 126-thousand dollars.
Meanwhile…….City Administrator David Murphy says the issue of a Bike Share program with Grand Forks could appear at a future council work session. The Boston-based company Zagster is looking to bring the bicycle rental program to greater Grand Forks this summer and is seeking sponsors to help defray the costs.
