An East Grand Forks man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for a drug crime that resulted in the death of a Grand Forks woman.
Thirty-three year-old Anthony Tozer was sentenced in Fargo this week by U.S. District Judge Karen Schreier.
Tozer pleaded guilty to a controlled substance offense that led to the death of Faith Burns in December 2017. Court documents say Burns died after taking fentanyl laced with heroin.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office recommended a sentence of 30 years, consistent with a plea agreement. The court still could have given Tozer a life sentence, but opted to impose 25 years instead.
