EGF Deer Survey

The growing deer population in the “Greenway” will be the likely target of a survey in East Grand Forks. The city council came to that consensus during last night’s work session. While some view the deer as “cute” other residents say they are becoming a “nuisance” and are damaging property. City staff will craft the survey which will come back to the council for review before being dispersed. Mayor Steve Gander says the results will be useful in plotting a course of action. Council member Mike Pokrzywinski says the city needs an ordinance to prevent the feeding of deer within city limits.
The city has not ruled out a limited hunt to help reduce the deer population in the Greenway.
