A recent survey of thirteen major businesses in East Grand Forks suggests many are a growth mode - but there are hurdles on the horizon. The analysis gave high marks for the city for having a stable / locally controlled business climate. The survey also applauded community and employee loyalty and the response at city hall.
One area of concern is recruiting the necessary workforce moving forward. Other businesses cited a perceived concern with Minnesota’s business climate vs North Dakota.
Economic Development Director Paul Gorte says that’s one area they hope to dispel in a new marketing campaign. He says the results may also be useful in visits with local legislators.
The Grow Minnesota survey was a joint project between the E-D-A and Chamber. An overview of the report was recently presented to city council members.
