The North Dakota Public Service Commission has approved plans to bring natural gas service to Drayton (ND). Dakota Natural Gas is eyeing a three-point-seven million dollar project that will tap into the Viking Line near Donaldson (MN). D-N-G says the move should reduce heating rates 20 to 40 percent for Drayton customers who have relied on coal…propane…and wood to heat their homes. The distribution system will also service the American Crystal Sugar plant.
P-S-C member Julie Fedorchak says adding natural gas to a community can be a boon for economic development.
D-N-G estimates around 200 customers could be served by the pipeline.
