The Grand Forks Events Center Commission is working to close an agreement with the management company Spectra. The Philadelphia-based firm was selected over several others to run the Alerus Center. During an update on the status of the contract talks Wednesday questions were raised as to existing contracts between Spectra and the Fargodome for food and beverage services. An agreement for consulting services will end next month. Several commission members questioned whether that could lead to a conflict of interest when bidding on events. The two sides are also working on sales and marketing incentives. Spectra is expected to meet with Alerus employees in the coming weeks as part of the transition. The deal could be approved by the commission in June with Spectra assuming management control on July 1st.
